Mizuno offers Japanese made wood bats in their custom classic series and they have been used by players Trot Nixon, Ichiro Suzuki, Mike Piazza and other Major League players.  Mizunos Classic Maple Bats are patterned after a design created by Mizunos master craftsmen Isokazu Kubota who has hand-crafted wooden bats for Mizuno for over forty years. While Mizuno may not make an aluminum bat, Mizuno offers some of the best wood bats in the industry. By not having an aluminum bat line Mizuno is often overlooked because the majority of players use Aluminum bats, leaving wood bats to the pros or wood bat leagues. Master Bat Craftsman for Mizuno, Isokazu Kubota has been hand crafting bats for Mizuno for over forty years. He, and others at Mizuno hand select and craft bats from the highest quality materials. A craftmanship that is unparalled in the industry, along with specialized techniques such as a microwave drying process, result in bats with wonderful feel, consistency, durability, and performance. Some of the Major League baseballs best players such as Todd Helton, Mike Piazza, and Ichiro Suzuki rely on Mizuno to offer the best craftmanship, dedication, and bats for them.

Mizuno bats come from the highest quality Maple, Bamboo, or Ash available. Maple is much harder and more dense than ash. The grain doesn't split with continued use, and because of the density it compresses the ball more creating a fifteen to twenty per cent greater rebound than ash. Bamboo is even more durable than Maple, Mizuno is one of the few companies that makes a Bamboo bat. Not only do they make Bamboo bats, they have over thirty years expertise in the engineering of these bats. Bamboo bats make an exceptional training bat because of their extended life span.

Some of the more popular Mizuno bats is the Classic Maple Bat, offered in a Brown, Mahogany, Cherry, and Navy finish. Like all Mizuno bats they are handcrafted, and the microwave drying process controls moisture for maximum consistency and performance. Mizuno bats also have cupped ends for a balanced bat design, and allowing for maximum swing speed. Bamboo bats come in a Natural, Black, and Navy finish; while the Ash bat comes in a Black finish. Mizuno also produces a youth Classic Maple Bat available in Mahogany.
